How it connects
- Through Microsoft Graph, signed in with Microsoft Entra ID. Microsoft lists Calendars.ReadBasic for free/busy and Calendars.ReadWrite for creating, changing and deleting events.
- A work or school account on Microsoft 365. Microsoft does not support the multi-calendar free/busy query for personal Microsoft accounts.
- If elunos.ai runs without a signed-in user, with application permissions, an admin has to grant them. RBAC for Applications in Exchange Online can limit them to specific mailboxes, as long as the same permission is not also consented tenant wide in Microsoft Entra ID.
Not part of the connection
- Email, contacts, OneDrive and Teams chats: only calendar permissions are requested.
- Mailboxes outside the scope your admin allows.
Good to know
- When elunos.ai creates an event with attendees, Exchange sends the invitations automatically. Microsoft says this cannot be switched off.
- Only the organizer of a meeting may cancel it with a custom message to attendees.
- Changes to RBAC for Applications take 30 minutes to 2 hours to apply, according to Microsoft.

Yes. elunos.ai uses Graph's calendar features: the free/busy query plus creating, updating and deleting events.
No. Only calendar permissions are requested. Mail, contacts and files are not part of it.
For application permissions, yes: Microsoft always requires admin consent for those. Delegated calendar permissions for a signed-in user do not strictly need it, per Microsoft.
For application permissions, RBAC for Applications in Exchange Online does that, with two caveats. Per Microsoft, the scope only holds if the same permission is not also consented tenant wide in Microsoft Entra ID, because both grants apply side by side. And there is no Calendars.ReadBasic role there; for free/busy the smallest role is Calendars.Read.
Yes, if you select them at setup. Graph's free/busy query covers room and equipment resources too.
Only partly. Microsoft supports the free/busy query across several calendars for work and school accounts only.
